About our class options

Kickboxing
Kickboxing is our thing! We mix kickboxing techniques with other fitness exercises to give you a complete high intensity workout on free-standing bags. It’s an amazing way to clear your mind, de-stress, and get strong! You’ll always leave feeling like a rockstar!

Box LIFT
This strength training class is a perfect complement to your kickboxing routine. Each 45-minute class features a circuit-style workout of bag work and free weights. All levels are welcome—our coaches will show you the moves, proper form, and modifications when needed.

Box BEAT
Box to the BEAT! During this class, you’ll keep the rhythm with the group and create your own beats to the music. We’ll keep the music up, party lights on, and the lights down low. This class is open to all members and beginners are welcome.

Pound Rockout Workout
Tap into your inner rockstar! Join Coach Camille (a registered Pound Pro!) for a super dynamic and fun workout! You will be using RipStix (drum sticks) with pilates and yoga-type movements, leaving you feeling sculpted and pumped! This class serves all levels.

KTRAX
Our KTRAX program allows you to train in the same great classes you love, with a focus on skill progression. You will enter into our certified ranking system based on attendance, fitness, and overall skill progression.

First Timer FAQs

How much are your memberships?

When looking for a new gym you want to make sure it’s a good fit. What are some key factors to consider:

  • Mission and alignment with your values
  • Community (are these your people?)
  • The vibe (does it feel good to be in the space?)
  • The movement (do you like the movement?)
  • Schedule (does it fit with your schedule?)
  • Cost (does it fit in your budget?)

Making sure a membership fits within your budget is important but make sure you are considering the other factors as well. Schedule a free consult with one of our coaches to review the options.

What’s the difference between the Kickboxing Foundations Course and the Intensive 90-Minute Course?

Both courses are exclusive to new members so you can get started in a comfortable environment. If possible, we recommend the full Foundations Course to get the full experience especially if you like to learn at a slower pace. The Intensive course is good if you need a different option for your schedule and you’re comfortable learning a lot of information in one larger block of time. 

What happens after I finish my intro session?

After you complete one of our intro session options, you’ll be ready to join our community! All members have a monthly plan which you can choose at any point during your intro course.

What if I’ve done kickboxing before?

If you’ve done kickboxing before and you are familiar and comfortable performing basic kickboxing and exercise movements, you have the option to start with our KUMA Orientation.

Previous experience means that you are comfortable with the following: jab, cross, hook, uppercut, front kick, roundhouse, and squats. The Foundations Course is still a great option especially if you love learning more about technique or if you’re nervous to start at a new studio.

What if I can’t make it to all of the Kickboxing Foundations classes?

We ask that you are able to commit to at least half of the classes. If you’re unable to make it to one of your Foundations classes, we will offer you a complimentary credit in a regular class.

I have some previous experience—can I skip the Foundations Course?

All new members at KUMA are required to enroll with an introduction session. If you have previous experience, you can start with our KUMA Orientation. Your previous experience should mean that you are comfortable with the following: jab, cross, hook, uppercut, front kick, roundhouse, and squats.

The Foundations Course is still a great option especially if you love learning more about technique or if you’re nervous to start at a new studio.

Do you allow drop-ins?

Our mission is to create a positive and comfortable experience for new women which is why we have designed the required enrollment options listed above. We don’t offer drop-in classes.

Am I too young/old for this workout?

Never—we have members from 18-80. Our coaches will provide moderations to every workout! This is a great program that parents and children can do together. Families that train together, stick together.

Do I need previous experience?

No. In fact, we love working with new members. Our coaches will guide you every step of the way to ensure you are doing the techniques properly.

Do I need to be in shape?

Definitely NOT. Most of our new members are either starting or getting back into the journey of fitness. Our coaches will work with you to build an effective and manageable plan.

I ventured to Kuma Fit in search of women-only fitness classes with encouragement on strength and feeling confident; my expectations were exceeded. Kuma is the most welcoming and comfortable place to move your body; all exercises can be adjusted to level of comfort, and all of the clientele are there for support and encouragement. This is truly a judgement-free, women-empowerment environment. Not to be forgotten, kickboxing itself is therapeutic; No matter what’s going on, when I leave a class I feel at ease, and proud that I have taken care of my body and mental needs. Definitely give this place a try, you won’t regret it.

This is not a gym...it is a community of Women pushing each other to succeed in fitness goals and over all wellness. The vibe makes up you want to show up and push your limits...but...plenty of support on those days you run out of steam.

Just wanted to update my review and say I recently hit 250 classes. I am still so thankful I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and checked this place out. The community is amazing, the support from everyone (coaches and peers alike) is insane and I highly recommend you check it out! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been going to Kuma since July 2021 and it's been so much fun. The coaches take the time to get to know each and every member and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. They offer a wide variety of classes and you leave feeling like a total badass. They focus on empowerment and strength which is refreshing for a fitness studio. I look forward to my classes each week!

Kuma is the inclusive gem I didn't know I needed. I needed to change up my workout routine and challenge myself with something new, so I gave Kuma a shot. The instructors are fantastic (special shout out to Mary and the 6 AM crew), they meet you where you're at and encourage you to dig deeper. Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging, Kuma is truly invested in your success and constantly recognizes milestones and consistency. Love to see their expansion so that more people can enjoy all that Kuma has to offer!

I've been going to KUMA for just over a year, and it has completely changed my outlook on exercise, fitness, and self image. The workout structure allows you to challenge yourself at your own pace, and the community of women that attend are so amazing! Highly recommend!
