A woman wearing a leopard print headband holds a large cup with a straw. The cup reads, "I'M NICE AFTER KICK BOXING." She smiles at the camera.

What inspired you to join KUMA?

I recently met someone who is a member at KUMA. Her positive words made me really excited to attend a Sidekick Saturday! After that first class, I was hooked!

What keeps you coming back?

I love the way I feel during and after the kickboxing classes. The coaches are so positive and uplifting and so are the other women in the classes! The classes are fun and I enjoy the workouts.

What challenges have you faced in your fitness journey and how have you overcome them?

I have had difficulty finding exercise that I actually enjoy doing and stick with until I found kickboxing. I have been attending classes for a couple months and I’m always excited for the next class!

What is your favorite workout or activity at KUMA and why?

I love the #1-6 combos. Not knowing what number the coach is going to call next keeps you on your toes!

How has the community at KUMA influenced or supported you?

KUMA has been such a positive community from the start. Everyone is so kind, welcoming and encouraging. I feel like I belong to a wonderful community of women!

What advice would you give to someone just starting their fitness journey?

Don’t give up! It may be hard but consistency is key and it will get easier to stay on track and follow through over time.

Is there a fellow member or a coach at KUMA who has been particularly supportive or inspirational to you? Give them a shoutout! Tell us how they’ve made a positive impact on your journey.

Whitney M! We were in foundations together and we just clicked! She’s been a huge support for me and is such a nice person in general!

Fun Fact: Tell us something fun or unexpected about yourself – any hobbies, talents, or surprising stories?

I taught myself how to make sugar cookies and royal icing from scratch and started my own sugar cookie decorating business when I was a stay at home mom!
